Selling to contractors who have just won public work
Contractors spend a lot of effort finding work to bid on. Suppliers have the opposite problem. They do not need to bid; they need to know who has already won, because that contractor now has a funded job and a deadline to mobilise. We have been on both sides of that moment.
What a contract win tells you
A public contract win tells a supplier what will be built, roughly how big it is, which department is paying, and which contractor will be buying. That is most of what a sales team needs to qualify the lead before the first call.
Why it is a strong lead
- The money is committed. Unlike many private projects, a public contract comes with a budget.
- The clock is running. Contracts carry completion timelines, so procurement starts quickly.
- Winners repeat. Contractors who win one public job often win more in the same category and region. A relationship built on the first job carries to the next.
The hard part
Information about who won what is scattered and inconsistent. Contractor names vary from one record to the next, and locations are often described in words rather than placed on a map. Most sales teams give up before they have a usable list.
How Supercrete approaches it
Awards intelligence, now in early access, lists contractors with public contract wins across Delhi in one view: contractor, department, value, work type and location. It standardises contractor names, places each win on the map with a precision level, and links it to the contractor's history. Suppliers can filter by work type and value, follow repeat winners, and get an alert when a contractor they track wins new work.
Awards intelligence is rolling out to early-access customers first. Request access to be included.
